Day 1: Kampala to Murchison falls National Park

Our company representative will pick you up from the place agreed on that’s either the airport or your hotel. You will then start your 5 hour journey to Murchison falls. Enjoy the scenic drive through the beautiful country side past the famous Luwero Triangle and Masindi town.

You will have a stopover in Masindi town for lunch at Masindi Hotel then after continue to Murchison falls arriving quite early. You will have a sunset cruise on River Nile or you will drive there to the top of the falls where you will view the falls i.e. Murchison and smaller Uhuru falls. Check in your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Murchison falls game drive

Wake up early for your breakfast and after the driver and a ranger guide will be picking you up for a game drive. Catch up with the predators and early risers like; herds of buffaloes, Uganda kob, baboons, elephant, hyenas, jackals, giraffe, velvet monkeys, antelope, lion, warthogs and so many others. You will also encounter different types of birds during the game drive. You will go back to your lodge to rest abit as you wait to have your lunch.

After lunch you will go for a boat cruise at the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls cruising past huge hippo pods, bathing buffaloes, crocodiles and several aquatic birds on the north bank as you hike to the top of the falls where the calm Nile perfects its beauty. You will after check in your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking Budongo Forest

Have your breakfast early enough and after you will head to the head offices where you will be briefed on how the tracking is done. You will then be divided into groups and led by an experienced ranger guide who will take you through the tracking. You are advised to carry bottled water and snacks just in case the tracking takes long. After these chimpanzees have been got, you will be given a maximum of 1hr with them to enjoy the most thrilling experience.

This chimp tracking will also give the bird watchers the opportunity to sight different bird species in the forest especially Budongo Forest. After you will go back to your lodge where you will be served lunch. There will be a boat ride to the Nile Lake Albert Delta where you will sight different birdlife for example: Goliath Heron, Grey crowned crane and the rare shoe bill stock. Check in your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Travel back to Kampala

After a cup of coffee, check out of the lodge and get ready to travel back to Kampala. You will branch off in Nakitoma in Nakasongola for a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here you will spend about 2 hrs before you continue your journey to Kampala. The driver will drop you off to the airport.

220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the UMEME in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.

CURRENCY:

Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort.   Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country.  Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.

CLOTHING:

Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.

BAGGAGE:

Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.

WATER:

You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration. 

HEALTH;

East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions.  Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards:

Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs.  Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray

Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.

Please be careful when photographing public buildings, airports, bridges, the national flag and people in uniform.  Ensure that you have sought permission before photographing local people and their villages.  If in doubt, please check with your guide.
