This 10 days Uganda & Rwanda safari is a tour which begins in Uganda where you will visit Queen Elizabeth national park before heading to Rwanda. While in Rwanda, you’l enjoy primate experience in Nyungwe national park and Volcanoes national park and end the safari in Kigali.
10 Days Uganda & Rwanda Safari Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
You will start the safari with pick up from Entebbe international airport by your safari guide who will welcome you and drive you to the hotel in Entebbe for check in.
Day 2: Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park
After having breakfast at the hotel in Entebbe, your guide will drive you to Queen Elizabeth national park which is one of the famous safari parks of Uganda. You will have a stop for lunch enroute and proceed to the lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park.
You will also engage in a game drive and explore Queen Elizabeth national park in search for wildlife species like elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, antelopes, and many others. After the game drive around the park, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Game drive and Kazinga boat cruise
You will have breakfast at the lodge and your guide will pick you up for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park to search for the various wildlife species found in the park such as elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, waterbucks, impalas, topi, warthogs among others.
You will also engage in an afternoon Kazinga boat cruise for about 2 to 3 hours and enjoy beautiful views of the lake and the local fishing village as well as wildlife species along the water shores such as elephants, hippos, buffalos, crocodiles and also different bird species. After the Kazinga boat ride, you will be driven to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Drive to Entebbe
You will prepare for the journey back to Entebbe after breakfast at the lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park. You will have a stop at the equator and also enjoy craft shopping as well as seeing the beautiful scenery of western Uganda.
After having lunch en route, your guide will drop you off at the hotel in Entebbe where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 5: Flight to Rwanda
After breakfast, you will be driven to Entebbe international airport for the flight to Rwanda. On arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative who will welcome you and drive you to the hotel in Kigali for check in.
You will have an optional city tour of Kigali on this day and later return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Drive to Nyungwe national park
You will have breakfast at the hotel in Kigali and you will embark on the 5 to 6 hour drive to Nyungwe national park which is home to chimpanzees in Rwanda.
You will have a stop in Butare where you will visit the kings palace and also the museum before proceeding to the lodge in Nyungwe national park where you will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk
You will wake up early and have breakfast at the lodge ahead of the briefing of chimpanzee trekking at the park headquarters in Nyungwe national park
After the briefing, you will move with your allocated ranger guides into the Nyungwe forest to search for the chimpanzees which you will spend time with and record videos as well as photos of the chimpanzees after which you will return to the briefing point. You will also engage in a canopy walk on this day
After lunch you will engage in a canopy walk in Nyungwe forest along a bridge suspended about 9 meters off the ground and during this experience you will enjoy views of the forest and the national park and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Drive to Volcanoes national park
After having breakfast at the lodge, you will start the journey from Nyungwe national park to Volcanoes national park which is home to mountain gorillas of Rwanda.
Your guide will drive you to the lodge in Volcanoes national park for check in and to prepare for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Gorilla trekking
You will have a briefing at the Kinigi park headquarters as you prepare for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park. After the briefing, you will be divided in groups and led by the ranger guides to begin the search for the gorillas.
After spending about 1 hour with the gorillas, you will return to the lodge where you will spend the night and have dinner.
Day 10: Drive to Kigali
Your guide will pick you up from the lodge in Volcanoes national park and drive you to Kigali after breakfast and drop you off at the airport in Kigali which will bring the tour to an end.
