Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pickup from Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi national park
You will be picked up on arrival at the Kigali airport and your guide will welcome you for the safari. You will start the journey to Bwindi national park with your guide and cross to Uganda via the Cyanika border and you will check in at the lodge where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
You will wake up for breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi national park and your guide will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking during which you will be informed about the do’s and don’ts of the trek. You will be assigned gorilla groups and ranger guides.
You will search for the gorillas in Bwindi forest and spend 1 hour with them and later you will have an optional Batwa cultural tour to get to experience their way of life and culture, enjoy traditional dance performances and also learn how they hunt and depend on the forest for medicine. After the Batwa tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: drive to Queen Elizabeth national park and night in Kibale national park
You will have breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi national park ahead of the transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park via the ishasha sector which is home to the tree climbing lions.
You will enjoy a game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park and lunch enroute to Kibale forest national park where you will check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Walk
You will wake up for an early breakfast at the lodge ahead of a briefing on chimpanzee tracking at the Kanyanchu headquarters. You will be assigned ranger guides and begin the search of chimpanzees in Kibale forest which is also home to different primates including black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, red tailed monkey among others. You will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees and after the trek, you will return to the briefing point.
After chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest, you will also enjoy a guided walk to the Bigodi wetlands where you will also enjoy seeing various bird species. After the Bigodi experience, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Entebbe and Departure
After having breakfast at the lodge in Kibale national park, you will start the journey to Entebbe with a stop for lunch enroute, your guide will drop you off at the airport in Entebbe which will bring the tour to an end.
