Best Time To Travel:

The best time to go for this luxury Uganda Primate & Wildlife Photography Safari is during the dry seasons from June to August and December to February. These months offer clearer skies, better light for photography, and easier trekking conditions in the forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kibale National Park, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Wildlife viewing in Murchison Falls National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park is also at its best during this period, as animals gather around water sources and the vegetation is less dense, making photography more rewarding.

How To Get There:

Your trip begins at Entebbe International Airport, the country’s main entry point. From here, the drive to Murchison Falls National Park takes about five to six hours, covering roughly 305 kilometers through open countryside, roadside markets, and the northern shores of Lake Kyoga.

The journey from Murchison Falls to Kibale National Park covers about 320 kilometers and takes six to seven hours. This route moves through the Albertine region and into the beautiful crater-lake landscapes that surround Fort Portal.

Driving from Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the easiest segments of the safari, taking about two and a half hours across a distance of 110 kilometers. The route passes alongside the Rwenzori Mountains and through local communities before you enter the savannah plains.

From Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the Ishasha sector route takes about four to five hours over roughly 160 kilometers. The scenery becomes more mountainous as you approach the gorilla highlands, with terraced hills and deep forested valleys.

The transfer from Bwindi to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is a shorter drive of about two to three hours over a distance of approximately 80 kilometers. The road climbs into the Virunga volcanic region, offering dramatic views of the peaks as you approach the park.

Your safari concludes with the cross-border transfer into Rwanda, which takes around three hours from Mgahinga to Kigali International Airport, covering roughly 140 kilometers through rolling hills and well-paved roads.
