5 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After pick up from Entebbe airport or the hotel in Entebbe, your guide will welcome you and drive you to Lake Bunyonyi. You will have a short briefing before starting the journey to Kabale and you will have a stopover at the equator for photography and also enjoy the water experiment and visiting the craft shops.
You will have another stop for lunch in Mbarara and proceed to Lake Bunyonyi which is the deepest lake in Uganda. You will relax by the lake and enjoy an evening cocktail by the water and also have your dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2: Drive to Bwindi national park
You will wake up for early breakfast and enjoy a canoe ride to the islands of Lake Bunyonyi and with a local guide you will get to know about the islands and their history and in the afternoon you will proceed to the lodge in Bwindi national park where you will have lunch.
You will have an optional community tour on this day to interact with the Batwa people who are also referred to as the Batwa pygmies and you will get to know their way of life and culture ad also enjoy traditional dance performances with the locals and later retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking
Your breakfast will be served early at the lodge and you will proceed to the park headquarters in Bwindi national park for a briefing by the park officials. You will be assigned groups for the gorilla trek through Bwindi forest and during the trek you will follow different trails and when you find the gorillas you will spend 1 hour with them.
After spending time with the gorillas, you will return to the lodge where you will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will wake up to an early morning breakfast at the lodge and your guide will drive you to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, you will engage in a boat ride on the Kazinga channel and see wildlife species like elephants, buffalos, school of hippos and Nile crocodiles by the water shore and different bird species.
After the boat ride, you will return to the lodge and have your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Game drive and Transfer to Entebbe
After having early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will engage in a morning game drive around Queen Elizabeth national park for about 3 to 4 hours in search of wildlife species like lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, antelopes, warthogs and many others.
Your guide will drive you to Entebbe with a stop for lunch enroute and you will be dropped off at Entebbe international airport which will bring the tour to an end.
