Detailed Itinerary of the 4 Days Bwindi Gorilla Safari
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
You will start your safari with pick up from Entebbe and your guide will welcome you for the safari. You will have a short briefing and start the journey to Lake Bunyonyi for about 8 to 9 hours. You will have stops along the way in Mbarara town where you will have lunch.
After lunch you will continue the drive to Lake Bunyonyi where you will relax by the beach and you will enjoy views of the terraced hills around the lake and your guide will drive you to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Canoe Ride and drive to Bwindi National Park.
After your breakfast, you will go for a canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi with a local guide as you enjoy the views and learn about the many islands on the lake. You will be driven to Bwindi national park after the boat ride and you will continue to the lodge for check in and also your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After having early morning breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi national park, you will go for the gorilla trekking briefing at the park headquarters by the Uganda Wildlife Authority officials. You will be informed on the guidelines of gorilla trekking and what to expect during the interaction with the gorillas. You will hike through the steep forested trails in Bwindi forest in search of the gorillas and with your ranger guides you will spend 1 hour with the gorillas upon finding them.
You will return to the briefing point after the gorilla trek and your guide will be waiting to pick you up and transfer to the lodge where you will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Drive to Entebbe
After your early morning breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi national park, you will start the journey back to Entebbe where your guide will drop you off at the airport which will bring the safari to an end.
