Detailed itinerary of the 8 Days Kenya-Uganda Safari

Day 1: Pick up and drive to Lake Nakuru national park

Your guide will pick you up from Jomo Kenyatta international airport and welcome you for the safari in Kenya. You will start the journey to Lake Nakuru national park where you will take part in a game drive and search for wildlife species such as rhinos, giraffes, buffalos, antelopes and many others. 

After the game drive in Lake Nakuru national park, you will be driven to the lodge where you will have dinner and spend the night. 

Day 2: Drive to Masai Mara reserve

After having breakfast at the lodge in Lake Nakuru national park, you will be driven to Masai Mara reserve where you will engage in game drives and lookout for animals including predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs among others.

You will also explore the wilderness of Masai Mara and enjoy views around the destination and later drive to the lodge to have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game drives in Masai Mara

Your guide will drive you on a morning and afternoon wildlife safari in Masai Mara as you search for wildlife species like the big 5 (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalos), wildebeests, zebras, impalas, hyenas, cheetahs, giraffes, impalas and many others. 

After the game drives in Masai Mara reserve, you will return to the lodge to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 4: Flight to Entebbe

After having an early breakfast at the lodge in Masai Mara reserve, your guide will drive you to the airstrip where you will take a flight to Entebbe airport in Uganda. On arrival at Entebbe airport, your guide will be waiting to pick you up and drive you to the hotel for check in.

You will have an optional evening tour in Entebbe before returning to the hotel.

Day 5: Drive to Bwindi national park

You will start the journey to Bwindi national park from Entebbe after having an early breakfast and for about 8 hours you will enjoy the scenery in south western Uganda, make stops at the equator and also have lunch in Mbarara where you will try out the local food including Eshabwe one of the dishes of the Ankole people. 

Your guide will drive you to the lodge in Bwindi national park where you will have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking

You will have a gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi national park on this day after an early breakfast and being briefed at the park headquarters where you will be assigned to a group to search for the gorillas in Bwindi. 

During the gorilla trek, you will be accompanied by ranger guides and trek through the dense forests of Bwindi where you will encounter the mountain gorillas and spend 1 hour with them before returning to the briefing point and proceeding to your lodge to relax and prepare to have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi 

After breakfast in Bwindi national park, your guide will drive you to Lake Bunyonyi to relax and enjoy a boat ride around the islands and to get to experience the beauty of the lake and its surroundings and also to interact with the locals and get to know their way of life.

You will spend the rest of the day at leisure by the lake and have dinner and overnight stay at the lodge in Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 8: Departure

Your guide will drive you from the lodge in Lake Bunyonyi after an early breakfast and you will start the journey to Entebbe with a stop via the equator and also an enroute lunch. You will be dropped off at Entebbe international airport which will bring the safari to an end.
