Best Time To Travel:

The best time to enjoy Gorilla Trekking, Safari in Tanzania and Victoria Falls together is during the dry seasons, which ensure better hiking conditions and optimal viewing of the falls.

  • Gorilla Trekking is best from June to August and December to February when trails are less slippery, and gorilla sightings are excellent.
  • Victoria Falls is most dramatic from February to May, right after the rainy season, when water levels are high. From June to August, visibility improves, and water spray reduces, making it ideal for photos and helicopter rides.

June to August is the sweet spot when both experiences offer near-perfect conditions.

What to Pack for a Luxury African Safari with Victoria Falls Vacation

Preparing for a Luxury African Safari with Gorilla Trekking, Victoria Falls & Serengeti Safari means packing smartly for two completely different environments humid tropical rainforests and the open, often dry savannah or misty spray of the falls. Your gear should be versatile, durable, and suited to both jungle adventures and more relaxed scenic outings.

Essentials to Bring:

  • Waterproof hiking boots: A must-have for trekking steep, muddy trails in the rainforest. Make sure they’re well broken-in for comfort.
  • Lightweight, waterproof jacket or poncho: Sudden rain showers are common in the gorilla parks and even around Victoria Falls due to the spray.
  • Long-sleeved shirts and pants: These protect you from bugs, thorns, and stinging plants during treks. Quick-dry fabrics are ideal.
  • Insect repellent with DEET or picaridin: Especially important in the rainforest areas to ward off mosquitoes and tsetse flies.
  • Sun hat and sunglasses: Helpful during your time at the falls or on savannah game drives.
  • Binoculars: Essential for birdwatching and wildlife spotting, especially on safaris or around Lake Kivu.
  • High-quality camera (non-flash): To capture moments with gorillas, panoramic shots of the falls, and wildlife across the savannah. Flash photography is not allowed near gorillas.
  • Reusable water bottle or hydration pack: Staying hydrated is critical during hikes and in the African sun.

Optional but recommended:

  • A small backpack for treks, gardening gloves (for gripping vegetation), trekking poles (especially in Bwindi), and a power bank or solar charger.
